Again, this year’s Strete Village Day was held in the most idyllic of locations thanks to the hospitality of Andrea and Malcolm Hollis at the Mewstone Paddock.
The weather did us proud once again this year after a worryingly wet start to the day, but as midday approached we were treated to a mild, dry afternoon with occasional sunshine. |

anniversary of
Exercise Tiger

To commemorate the 75th anniversary
of the deadly Exercise Tiger, in which 749 US troops were killed, an art installation by artist Martin Barraud called 'There But Not There' was laid on the beach at Slapton Sands. The poignant tribute was unveiled at Slapton Sands by the charity Remembered 749 footprints representing the troops who lost their lives during the D-Day rehearsal.
